Management

Sean McDonough

Director, President & Chief Executive Officer

Leveraging deep expertise in heavy industry and traditional energy, Sean has scaled the business to become North America’s first fully vertically integrated oil and gas producer and off-grid digital infrastructure operator. Since founding the company in 2020, he has driven its rapid expansion. By reimagining the natural gas midstream, Sean has pioneered a model that deploys modular data centres directly at the wellhead to power highly profitable Bitcoin mining and high-performance computing operations. This approach turns stranded energy into a digital asset, effectively extending the economic life of oil wells by an extra decade.

Prior to founding New West Data, Sean led the New Ventures division at Enercapita Energy, where he first began developing off-grid distributed computing strategies in 2019. He holds a Bachelor’s in Development Economics and an MBA from the University of Calgary.

Chase Gavin

Chief Financial Officer
Chase brings more than 15 years of oil and gas expertise to his role as CFO of New West Data. Previously, he served as Controller at Valeura Energy and honed his financial acumen as a senior accountant at KPMG. Chase is a member of CPA Canada.

Dorn Cassidy

Vice President, Operations
Dorn brings more than 25 years of oil and gas operations expertise to his role as VP Operations at New West Data. He most recently served as a director with Arethusa Energy Partners and VP Operations at Blackspur Oil.

Greg Tisdale

Chairman
Greg is founder and CEO of Enercapita Energy and brings more than 30 years of executive and board experience in both private and public oil and gas companies. Among his many accomplishments, as CFO of Crescent Point Energy, Greg played a pivotal role in transforming the company from a junior player to a major independent.

Jaime Leverton

Director
Jaime is a seasoned executive in digital assets, data centres, and high-performance computing infrastructure. Currently CEO of Digital Asset Treasury company Reserve One, she was formerly CEO of Hut 8 Mining (NASDAQ: HUT), one of North America’s largest publicly traded bitcoin-mining companies, and currently serves as Chair of Synteq Digital and director of Riot Platforms (NASDAQ: RIOT).

Craig Hruska

Director
Craig is founder and Chairman of Enercapita Energy, with more 35 years of founder, executive and board experience with both private and public companies in the oil and gas sector.

Duane Masse

Director

Duane serves as Executive Vice President and COO of Enercapita Energy, with more than 35 years of operations and executive experience in both private and public Canadian oil and gas companies.

Russ Graham

Director

Russ is founder and President of Trido Industries, a company that helps oil-field service operations secure carbon credits through emissions-reduction programs. He brings 25 years of experience as a founder and executive in oil and gas services to New West Data.

Oliver Wriedt

Director
Oliver is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Olivon Advisors. With more than 30 years of experience in financial services, he has served as CEO of Vibrant Capital Partners and Co-CEO at CIFC Asset Management.
